I think, when Alex arrived at the airport he was disappointed and very surprised that his father wasn`t there. Alex felt himself sad, because Tom was in London and he hadn`t visit him and his mother in London, as they were there. Tom`s wife and their children helped him to forget it.

I would say, the first 66 ours in Australia for Alex was very exciting, because Sydney is a big city. For him the city was exciting, too. He knew the names of their children, their names are Dominic and Luke. Dominic is 6 years and Luke 3 years old. And it was also funny for him to swim at Bondi Beach.

Alex knew Dani Klavans. the neighbour of Tom`s family. He is very impressed of her and he likes her. I think, this a good opportunity for him to show his own talent.

In my opinion the first chapter is a short introduction and easy to understand.
When I read this chapter, I understood very much about Alex`s life.
It says that Alex is an 18-year-old boy. He wants to see his father who had left the family, when he was 2 years old. And Alex hasn`t seen him for 16 years.
I think, that the decission for Alex is very hard , because he doesn`t know how he can talk with him, if he meets Tom. But on the other side it is very excited for him, because Alex had never known him. And for most of children it is very hard,too, because you don`t know the mother or father.
